Are you in Lisbon this weekend? Join us for the Lisbon LGBTQI+ Pride March — a space of resistance, celebration, and freedom! 🌈✊
The 26th edition of Lisbon’s LGBTQI+ Pride March has already been set: it will take place on 7 June 2025, starting at 4.30pm, local time, at the emblematic Marquês de Pombal and then heading along Avenida da Liberdade to Terreiro do Paço. The organising committee of the march, made up of 18 entities, promises “a celebration of existence and resistance for freedom.”
This annual event has turned the streets of Lisbon into a space of celebration and protest for the rights of LGBTQI+ people. This year’s edition will once again be a powerful moment of visibility, resistance, and a demand for freedom.
Celebrate LGBTQI+ rights in the heart of Lisbon
The 2024 march made history, gathering over 50,000 people united in giving voice to diversity and calling for change to ensure fundamental rights and equal conditions for all – regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. That year’s march also marked the 50th anniversary of the 25 April Revolution, a turning point in Portugal’s democracy. It reminded us how, under the fascist regime, LGBTQI+ people were erased from public discourse and persecuted by the state.
With the theme of celebrating existence and resistance, this upcoming march will be another chance to show that the fight for freedom is far from over. Whether you want to demand rights, build solidarity or simply celebrate diversity, the invitation is clear: save the date and join this march for freedom!
“Join us in celebrating existence and resistance for freedom,” calls the Lisbon LGBTQI+ Pride March for 2025! 🌈
